She Brought Me Gasoline is a blues/americana/country band from Croatia. Due to their residence, it’s not a promising combination, it’s something like being a punk band in Ethiopia, but there’s a wording that music has no boundaries. She Brought Me Gasoline learned it with the release of their first EP when they were picked up for the band of the day by the British Maximum Volume Music.
Their debut album was internationally released in 2020 by the Italian label Go Country Records. Just a day after the lockout. Despite the COVID-19 has disrupted their international breakthrough they hit the “albums of the year” top-list by several regional music magazines (Ravno do dna, Nacional, Stereoart, Osluskivanja).
It’s a path of paradox. Although there are funding opportunities for promoting the Croatian culture outside of the country She Brought Me Gasoline never met the minimum of formal requirements. But they rented a cottage in the rural part of the country, improvised a home studio and recorded a self-released album that ended up among the top ten albums of the 2022 year by the Durango Harald (USA). Together with Calexico and the Deslondes.
Their music has been presented four times by the fantastic and never got over the Americana Music Show, couple of times by Americana UK, Salty Dog Blues N Roots, Bandana Blues radio show, RockNBlues Today, the Garden Party, the Alternate Root, Blues 4 U, Red Hot Blues, No Hope No Fear etc.
We’ll see what comes up with the newest album “Songs from the cliff” expected in the first half of 2025 but the boys from She Brought Me Gasoline are sure that it’ll be a top quality blues/country underground.
